Microsoft Fabric Workshop

Pathways Technologies Ltd is delighted to invite you to our Microsoft Fabric workshop.
Microsoft Fabric Workshop

The Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Kenya, a GIZ program, has been commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU) to support Kenya in enhancing its digital transformation for sustainable economic development. Under this initiative, DTC is focusing on two key projects designed to advance Kenya’s agricultural sector:

Credit Scoring Model to De-risk Lending to Farmers
Objective: Facilitate access to capital for farmers while minimizing lending risks.
Approach: Develop a machine learning-powered credit-scoring model using alternative data sources from the agricultural ecosystem. This model will accurately understand farmers’ financial profiles and classify them into different risk categories. By incorporating variables like historical yields, weather patterns, and market transactions, it provides lenders with a clear risk profile of farmers, thereby enhancing financial inclusion.

Field Boundary Delineation Application
Objective: Provide a tool for identifying and marking the precise boundaries of agricultural fields.
Approach: Utilize GIS and satellite imagery to create digital field maps for farm management and planning. Farmers, landowners, and agroprenuers can mark exact boundaries with GPS-enabled devices. These maps serve as base layers for overlaying additional data, enabling precision agriculture practices.

GIZ has contracted Pathways Technologies Ltd as the technology and innovation partner to develop these two applications/tools.

Pathways Technologies Ltd is delighted to invite you to a stakeholder-engagement workshop whose objectives are as follows:

  • Present to you the preliminary thinking and a high-level showcase of the two concepts/tools
  • Seek your indulgence and participation in thinking through the thought process and enviaged final product.
  • Gather insights and perspectives on the tools to assess market readiness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Guide the refinement of these tools to better meet the needs of farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
  • Promote a collaborative approach involving the government, private sector, tech innovators, and farmers to harness the power of data in agriculture.
  • Gather domain knowledge required for the development of the applications/tools
  • Obtain stakeholder participation in re-imagining the future of agricultural digitalization in Kenya and financial inclusion of farmers.
